Tithi Basu Mallik has joined the Office of the Dean of the Faculty (ODoF) as assistant dean of postdoctoral affairs, effective Nov. 27, 2023.
As a member of the ODoF Academic Affairs team and liaison to Princeton’s postdoctoral community of more than 700 postdoctoral researchers, Mallik will collaborate with academic department administrators and ODoF team members on matters related to postdoctoral appointments. She also will develop and lead programming for Princeton’s postdoctoral scholars.
Mallik served as associate director of Ph.D. career and professional development in Career Services at the University of Pennsylvania. She has extensive experience in offering postdoctoral career and professional development across disciplines, conducting one-on-one advising and developing programming to enhance career preparation. Her work has included partnerships with faculty and staff to support the needs of postdocs, as well as providing dedicated support for underserved populations, including first-gen and international students.
Mallik previously served as assistant director for graduate/professional students and postdoctoral career support at the University of Kentucky, where she was jointly appointed by the Graduate School and the Career Center. She received her Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Connecticut, where she was actively involved in the Center for Career Development and in graduate student government. She holds an M.Phil. in cognitive science and a B.A. in philosophy from Jadavpur University in Kolkata, India.
